India is a country today with 65% of its youth in the working age group. If ever there is a way to reap this demographic advantage, it has to be through skill development of the youth so that they add not only to their personal growth, but to the country’s economic growth as well.
On one hand SEIF’s strategic skill development program is aligned to the skill vision of the country, on the other hand it is in line with the SDG 4 and 8 of Quality Education and Economic Growth. Schneider Electric India Foundation started its flagship Skill Building program in the area of Electrician Training in 2009. The program focusses on providing hands-on Practical Training and it is achieved through highly customized and special developed course content. Coupled with the specially developed and highly customized state-of-the-art practical labs, students get ample practical exposure simulating real-life work conditions. The course curriculum effectively prepares students for residential as well as industrial sectors.
This training is further complemented by the certain bolt-on lectures and trainings which are provided by the subject matter experts from Schneider Electric, both in Technical and Life Skill areas. Trainers for this program are trained, using a high intensity short duration course, at our state-of-the-art training facility at Bangalore. This facility is one of the finest in the country in terms of technical infrastructure related to electrician training.
As part of our philosophy of continuous improvements, we introduced the solar training program in 2016
Currently our electrician training program is available at 300 centers across the length and breadth of country and since the inception of program in 2009, more than 100,000 youth have been trained under this program
